Franziskaner Dunkel is a dark beer produced by the German brewery Franziskaner, known for its rich brewing heritage dating back to 1363. This Dunkel variant is a traditional Munich Dunkel-style lager, characterized by its deep brown color and malty flavor profile. It typically exhibits a balance of caramel sweetness and roasted malt notes, with a moderate hop bitterness. The use of Munich malt contributes to its smooth, slightly toasty taste. Franziskaner Dunkel is often praised for its full-bodied nature and is enjoyed as a classic representation of the Dunkel style within the world of German beers.
We are therefore faced with a beer that has all the attributes of a wheat beer with intense and fruity aromas of ester and wheat which are reminiscent of bananas, cloves and yeast.
In the mouth, we find flavors typical of traditional wheat beers, such as fruity, malty and spicy notes of banana and cloves. We can also detect a slight bitterness which develops on the palate at the end of the tasting.

Finishes with moderate crispy clove flavor. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Average carbonation. A good and tasty dunkel weissbier.
