The Franziskaner Dunkel arrives in a 6 liter keg for the Perfectdraft beer dispenser. This is the brown version of Franziskaner Hefe-weiss, but it remains a German wheat beer with a long-standing reputation. It is brewed with a large dose of malt during its brewing process and this is the only point in the recipe that differs from the original version.
We are therefore faced with a beer that has all the attributes of a wheat beer with intense and fruity aromas of ester and wheat which are reminiscent of bananas, cloves and yeast.
In the mouth, we find flavors typical of traditional wheat beers, such as fruity, malty and spicy notes of banana and cloves. We can also detect a slight bitterness which develops on the palate at the end of the tasting.
